The site of 3 yew trees, the size of a natural monument

Dodaj do planera

On the opposite side of the division line running along the embankment, in the middle of its length, about 50 meters away, a group of three yews grows in natural conditions. As a result, they are entitled to protection status, but apart from that, they all qualify for protection as natural monuments, which is defined in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment and applies to yew trees with a trunk circumference of at least 50 centimeters 12 . The yews from Bogusław growing here have circumferences of 57 cm, 62 cm and 104 cm respectively. In addition, during the usual one-time pass, two quite young specimens were noticed, one 30 cm high, the other 70 cm from the ground. This gives this place a special value, which is the ability to self-renew. It is worth recalling that King Władysław Jagiełło announced in 1423 a royal edict on the protection of yew trees, which is the oldest Polish legal act on nature protection. This year (2023) marks 600 years since its release.
