At the request of the inhabitants of Boruszowice, who were almost all Catholics, in 1919 a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows was erected in the building. The thought of a new temple reappeared in 2000. After obtaining the relevant permits, the construction of a new temple began in September 2002. The new temple was consecrated on September 21, 2014 by bishop Jan Kopiec.
