In the years 1666-1670 it was probably built by Marcin Grochowski. In 1687, the parish in Koty was established, and the palace chapel in Tworóg was then raised to the rank of a branch church. The church was consecrated in 1817.
In the years 1905-1907, the expansion and reconstruction of the church in the neo-baroque style was undertaken by Rev. Karol Knosała. The church gained a transverse nave and a new chancel, and the tower was raised. In the middle there is the 17th-century main altar and the classicist organ from the 19th century.
