Church of St. Nicholas in Kozłów

Dodaj do planera

The original Romanesque church, built of field stone, is the presbytery of the present church. It is first mentioned in documents from 1376 and 1447, although some argue that the church's foundations may date back to the 13th century.

In the years 1540-1545, the church was enlarged by adding a part of the nave to the height of the present side entrance. A memento of the local owners of the village is the late Renaissance tombstone of Piotr Kozłowski from 1618. At the end of the 16th century, the church was taken over by Protestants. During the Thirty Years' War, the church was given to Catholics, but due to the reduction of income, it became a branch of the parish in Brzezinka. The 18th-century main altar was brought to the church from an unknown parish, with the image of the patron saint - St. Nicholas.
