The church was designed and built by August Stüller (in 1842 he became a royal architect appointed by the King Frederick Wilhelm IV). The sanctuary was built in 1856 as an evangelical church, most likely on the site of the former Catholic church. A year later a construction of a slim tower began. Moreover, Elisabeth Louise Wittelsbach, the Queen of Prussia, gave a Bible to the church. The brick sanctuary is built in the neo-Gothic style. Since 1945 it has served the Catholics. In 1970 it was thoroughly renovated.
