The surrounding of Parsów and Babin were settled already in the Stone Age, which is proved by the tools found by the archaeologists within this territory, for example, stone axes. People occupied this land also in further prehistoric periods: the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, and in the Early Middle Ages the Pomeranians tribe built a defensive gord with a suburbium on the lake's peninsula, around 500 m east of Parsów. Although it was over a thousand years ago, the gord's earthworks are still visible on this terrain.
