Farm fields and meadows around Ługi Górzyckie

Dodaj do planera
In autumn and winter, the fields and meadows around Ługi Górzyckie become a feeding ground for thousands of bean geese and greater white-fronted geese. On their way from the northern reaches of Eurasia to the wintering grounds in Western Europe, birds fly for thousands of kilometres. The species characteristic for the local fields are mute and hopper swans which arrive to the Oder valley to spend the winter. Finding plenty of space, relative safety and food in the fields, the swans often resign from spending the nights on water and stay on the feeding grounds instead.
