The unassuming watercourse in the vicinity of the village of Pyrzany is the straightened bed of one of the numerous distributaries of the old delta of the Warta river. Three centuries ago, the distributary was an important route for transporting local products west, all the way to Hamburg. There was a dock and a transhipment point for the goods transported by water, mainly glass bottles. The stream’s function as a transport route ended with the “great amelioration” when it was cut off from the main river bed of the Warta by an embankment. At the watercourse, you can find an information board.
