In Świerkocin, you can see a small height, known among the local citizens as the lilac hill. In the 18th century, the lilac hill served as the command centre of the massive project of amelioration and channelling of the lower Warta river. The royal plenipotentiary responsible for the project, Franz Balthasar von Brenckenhoff, oversaw the works from there. The only remainder of the palace and manor complex is the nearby building which used to serve as stables. The palace was visited by the King of Prussia, Frederick II the Great.
