The historic building of the former Gymnasium located at 4 1 Maja Street is dated from 1904-1938. The brick building has been restored.
The thermomodernization works of the gymnasium building began with cleaning the facade with a chemical method. Then, the brick and stone walls were renovated by opening the damaged binder. The building has been protected against the harmful effects of moisture, fungi, moss and algae. Thanks to hydrophobization, the building will be protected against the ingress of rainwater and moisture from the air, which will significantly reduce the occurrence of damage caused by frost. Covering with special repellants will prevent the growth of harmful microorganisms on the facade of the gymnasium building. The project was co-financed under the Regional Operational Program of the Śląskie Voivodeship for 2014-2020.
