The main need to create a bicycle riverside hostel in the city of Kalety was the increase in the number of cyclists crossing forest paths, which are numerous in Kalety. For such tourism to take place in a safe and organized manner, the development of bicycle infrastructure was necessary. The main goal of this project was to create a place for tourists to rest and shelter from rain and scorching sun.
Stanica was established in 2019. It was located at Oaks Avenue in Truszczyca, a place willingly and often chosen for family bicycle rides. A large wooden shelter serves the residents and visitors of Kalety as a place to relax during bicycle trips. The facility has also been enriched with the necessary infrastructure, i.e. boards with route maps and a bicycle repair station. Last year, the city of Kalety was awarded for the fifth time in the category of commune up to 10,000 inhabitants with the title of "Cyclist-Friendly Commune" for its creative contribution to the development of cycling tourism, among others for the construction of this riverside hostel.
There is an educational path dedicated to mushrooms next to the riverside hostel. Ryszard Wysocki from Zielona sculpted the models over a meter high. The path consists of a total of 10 mock-ups consisting of mature and young mushrooms and an information board with an interesting description of individual species.
