The first mention of the church can be found in a document from Fr. Bishop Thomas. This document comes from 1256, and it shows that the founders of the church were Lutozat and Lonek Pisko. Where does the name of the city probably come from? Around 1450, the old wooden church was replaced with a brick one, whose walls still stand from the side of the main altar to the pulpit.
