St. John of Nepomuk was founded by Count Christoph Leopold Colonna, and it was placed on the Toszek market square in 1725. The saint holds the figure of the Savior in his hands, in the central part of the monument there is an inscription: “sanCto JoaanJ nepo Mu Ceno pro Conservato Confessionis sJgLLo e 'ponte pragensJ prae CJ Ptato Laus et Gloria” - Saint John of Nepomuk, who was thrown from the Prague bridge for keeping the secret of confession, let it be glory and fame.
During the fire of the town in 1833, the monument was heavily damaged, and it was renovated to decorate the market square.
In 1852, the pedestal was surrounded by a low wrought fence. Toszek legend has it that the figure of the saint rotates and the head of John of Nepomuk always faces the fire.
