The origins of the residence in Kamieniec are unknown. We know for sure that there was a medieval castle here. On the ruins of this building, the family built a Renaissance residence in the 16th century. Kamieniec soon became their main nest.
The beginning of the 18th century brought the construction of a new, this time baroque palace, built on the initiative of Martin Scholtz von Löwenkron on the foundations of the aforementioned Renaissance building. The new residence had a compact, two-story body covered with a mansard roof. In the middle of the same century, the palace was purchased by Karol Józef Strachwitz. The Strachwitzs, who owned it for a long time, made it their family seat. The residence also owes to them another reconstruction, carried out in the 1870s. The wall surrounding the building was then demolished, and then it was expanded in the Neo-Renaissance style. The next owners, the Stolbergs, who owned the palace in the first half of the 20th century, made the last reconstruction, which gave the residence neo-baroque features. The characteristic elements (then erected) are towers in the corners. Currently, the well-kept and impressive palace building houses a Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for children.
East of the palace, in the immediate vicinity, there is the so-called Mouse Tower. For a long time it was considered to be built by the Strachwitzs at the end of the 19th century, however, archaeological research revealed the remains of a medieval castle.
