The large lapidarium, established in 2007 with the surviving tombstones, which are displayed in a very thoughtful, aesthetic and symbolic manner, is an expression of the Słońsk community’s appreciation for the town’s long and complicated history, and the past generations which built Sonnenburg. The lapidarium is the creation of the local history enthusiast, Mr Błażej Kaczmarek, who not only had the idea for it, but built it with his own hands.
